Okay… I’m behind on my blogging again. Last Saturday and into Sunday morning we had a good old fashioned ice storm. A sure sign that spring is coming.
The ice was very altitude dependent. Here at the house (at roughly 1200 feet) we had a half-inch from ground level to the tree tops. On Sunday afternoon, I headed to Brattleboro and was surprised that by the time I got Sullivan there was only in the tree tops along side the road. By the time I got to Keene, a few more miles along route 9, the only sign of ice was on the hilltops.
It stayed cold and cloudy all day Sunday and into Monday. Thus, in and around the house and Gregg Lake, there was still ice on everything when I awoke on Monday morning.
I made photos on both Sunday and Monday mornings.
Got me a whole new outlook on ice, thanks! most interesting captures for sure. The one of the chain-linked fence caught my eye.
