Late winter is pretty drab here in New Hampshire. Melting snow turns gray and bares brown earth. The trees are bare of leaves and gray. The sky alternates between gray and bright blue giving a hint of the color that comes with spring but we are not there yet.
Several months ago I bought a small FujiFilm Instax Square camera. This interesting camera is a hybrid; it is a digital camera combined with an instant film printer. One can set it up to work like an old Polaroid SX70… snap a photo and the camera spits out a small print that develops before your eyes. Alternately one can use it as a digital camera, review the photos on the small screen on the back, and print selected photos. I have been using it in the latter mode. The prints are small, about 2 3/8 inches square, which is part of the charm.
Over the past week, I have been hunting for interesting, brightly colored objects to photograph with the Instax.
One ‘problem’ to solve with such small prints is how to display them. I’m still playing with ideas. Since I had to scan the prints to display them herein, I decided to array the images into the grid you see here. I’m not yet sure what I’ll do with the physical prints.

Very interesting. So you mostly shoot smaller subjects with this camera?? What does it use for paper to print out the image?
