Cyanotype, invented in 1842 by John Herschel, is an iron-based photosenstive system resulting in images formed from Prussian Blue.
Photograms are made by placing opaque or translucent items directly on a photosensitive surface and exposing the assembly to light.
Cyanotype photograms were used by Anna Atkins, in 1843, to illustrate what is considered the first book containing photographic images.
Continuing in this long tradition, I have been playing*!!!
The result is two small series of photograms. I plan on adding to these series as time permits and have an idea for at least one more series.
The M Series
Series H
* Some time ago, when investigating anthotypes, I made photograms using this process, see: https://porfolio.gorga.org/anthotype
Most interesting!
Your “M” series reminded me of a magnetic field while the “H” had inklings of showing at Staples for those loose leaf hole protectors or rulers for school!
