This week I spent 48 hours on Star Island, one of the Isles of Shoals, photographing birds during the northward migration. The trip was organized by Eric Masterson.
I took the 2 PM boat on Tuesday (14 May 2024) outbound and the 4 PM boat on Thursday (16 May) back to the mainland; the boat trip is about one hour.
The birding was good but not spectacular as it can be sometimes. There were plenty of local birds to photograph as well as moderate numbers of migrants. I was not bored.
Another post with the non-avian photos I made will come tomorrow.
