As I made my way up (and down) the southern Maine coast before heading to Star Island, I made multiple stops along the way to looks for birds and to photograph the landscape. The photographic ‘hot spots’ were Fort Foster (Kittery), Cape Neddick, the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge (spread along several coastal towns, East Point Audubon Sanctuary (Biddeford Pool), Fort Williams State Park (Cape Elizabeth) and Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center (Scarborough).
