It has been a month to the day since my last post. February and March are not prime time for photography here in northern New England. I take my camera with me most times when I leave the house. However, often these days, I don’t make any exposures.
In order to try and shake the doldrums, my friend Victor and I headed to the Canterbury Shaker Village yesterday morning. I have photographed there a number of times in the past, but not for quite some time. In fact, the last time I was in Canterbury was February 2020; i.e. right before ‘the pandemic’! Victor had never visited before.
I photographed mainly with my camera obscura but I did use my ‘regular’ camera some. Also, atypically for me, some of the resulting photos are in color. The buildings at the Village are mostly white clapboard, but some of them are painted yellow (and a few red). The combination yellow buildings and blue sky was too much to resist.
