It is hard to believe that it has been more than a month since my last post. I have made photographs six days since the beginning of September. So I have photos but some how just haven’t thought about the blog.
Maybe that is because this foliage season is turning out to be lackluster. In a typical year the swamp maples are fully crimson around Labor Day. This year they were late in turning and the best color lasted only a few days. Additionally, most of the sugar maples are turning color early and briefly, before ending up on the ground as well. The color has been just drab even though we have had mostly sunny days and bluebird skies of late. It could be the hot, dry summer we had but I don’t really know.
Anyway here are a few photos from September and one day in October.
Well, we can’t have ideal foliage colors EVERY year, right? I feel for those who booked travel to NE and find drab. Similar results around here. . .
Liked the pumpkins. . .
